It’s been a week since I hopped from one Mediterranean island to another, and I’m already craving the slower pace of life.
Does anyone else start to build new lives in their head while they’re in another city or is it just me? I find myself doing it to every place I visit, I can visualise what my day could look like, all the different people I could be meeting and exciting things I could be doing. And is it a fascinating thought, that all of these different lives and realities live within all of us? How are we possibly meant to choose just one?
My friends say I have the best recommendations, so I thought I’d share a few of my faves from my trip:
🐙 Periplous - The. Best. Meal. Of. My. Life. Hands down!!! I had 7 courses, practically licked my plates, and je ne regrette rien.
🏖️ Elafonissi - Stunning beach, almost criminal not to have a photoshoot 👀. Also the journey there is a great way to see different parts of the island.
🛎️ Thallos Boutique Hotel - a charming little hotel in the heart of Chania’s Old Town. The owner converted a traditional Cretan house and infused it with Japandi interiors - Highly recommend!
🍷 Manousakis Winery - I feel like a wine connoisseur already, watch me swirl my glass and comment on the wine’s ‘oakiness’. The winery is beautiful and the history is compelling. I’m a sucker for a good story.
☕ Monogram Coffee - I’m fully subscribed to cafe culture and I LOVE finding cute spots whenever I travel. I make it my go-to spot and sip on some robust arabica like a (wannabe) local.
Meme of the Week
Basically, unstoppable.
Resources that I love (and I think you will too)
📓 Pocketbook prompts - daily reminders to slow down and reflect. Subscribe for free and receive them daily in your inbox.
💻 Notion templates - I love a good template, I’m the queen of Notion and I’m constantly sharing them with friends. And since you’ve been my loyal readers for a while, here’s one for you.
⌚ Whoop stats - It might be because I’m a Capricorn, but I love metrics. I’m outcome driven, so seeing the stats as proof validates how I’m feeling. I’ve tried a few smart watches, but I’m genuinely impressed with the data of this device. Get 1 month free on WHOOP.
🧘TBM DI’s - In line with this week’s theme of slowing down, I’ve added this ritual into my evening routine. After a long day, I often struggle to wind down and calm my mind. *Binaural beats has entered the chat*. This seems to be doing the trick, try it out.
IG Bio of the Week
Your instagram bio and highlights are more important than you think. For organic, obviously (SEO). But, when you're running ads on IG - your audience clicks the handle the ad is served from ALL.THE.TIME. What copy is there to greet them?
Here’s are a few bios to study:
🕴️Business entrepreneur example
Why? A personal brand that effectively and concisely demonstrates credibility, presents the offer in a direct way and places the mission is front and centre.
Why? This brand has built a truly unique personality and brand story personified among different cultural reference points, and shines through the concise bio.
⭐ (Another) Water brand example
Why? Possibly the most Gen-Z brand, that has clearly embraced the tiktokification of social media. It’s fun, bold and memorable.
Why? Aesop is a brand that prides itself on simplicity and minimalism and a great example of a bio that shows that more does not always mean better.
Why? Gymshark creates a real emotional connection with athletes looking for motivation, keeping the messaging down-to-earth and approachable.
Why? The product is clearly defined, results add to the credibility, and while it’s a finance tool, it’s still a fun and socially relevant brand.
Added to my Wishlist
🏡 Beast blender - I need this in my new kitchen.
👼 Current Body - Turning 32 again (long-story), places skincare front and centre.
🐚 Loewe bag - obsessed. This has to be the IT bag this summer.
Have a contentful week 🌞 να έχετε μια ικανοποιητική εβδομάδα (So cultured, I know)
